A Great Place to Learn Kenpo - Kenpo Orphans Welcome!

Sacramento Kenpo Karate is a very warm and friendly school teaching the art of self-defense. It's a great place for women to feel safe and for men to smack the heck out of each other, if that's what they want. The men can feel safe too. :)

Palindrome video

This is too brilliant not to share.

A palindrome reads the same backwards as forward. This video reads the exact opposite backwards as forward.  Not only does it read the opposite, the meaning is the exact opposite.

This is only a 1 minute, 44 second video and it is brilliant.   Make sure you read as well as listen…forward and backward.

This is a video that was submitted in a contest by a 20-year old.   The contest was titled "u @ 50"  by  AARP. This video won second place. When they showed it, everyone in the room was awe-struck and broke into spontaneous applause.  So simple and yet so brilliant. Take a minute and watch it.

Kenpo Karate

Happy Holidays from SKK!!

KENPO TERMINOLOGY 101 -
Angle of No Return--refers to the position and angle of the upper-body and hips while delivering a front kick or forward motion, making it awkward, difficult, and illogical to attempt to return to your starting position. Because of the awkwardness and the time needed to return to your original position, exposure of your vital areas would work in your opponent's favor--not to mention your inability to render an immediate counter. SKK NEWS Whew! Okay! Made it through Thanksgiving, and more importantly I found out that I do not want to go out on 'Black Friday' ever again. Amy and I tried. We got up to get to Target by 6:30 am and got nothing. The lesson learned is to avoid the crowds and sleep in.

I am throwing out another reminder to check out the SKK web site calendar function to see about class schedules and upcoming events. Plus, let me know if you have an announcement or information of your own to pass on, I will be more than happy to put it up.
Well, our youth class continues to be a blast to teach. We have a really fun bunch of kids. They are all very enthusiastic. We would like to extend a special thank you and a very merry Christmas to Travis, Omari, Alex, Mackenzie, Jon, Jordan, Skyler, Tyler, Andrew and Daeton. We hope your Christmas wish lists are fulfilled.
So, where is everyone? Our adult class has been very small these past couple of weeks. We really miss everyone's smiley faces. Please, if you can remember, let us know if you are unable to show up to class. Below is our contact information…
